"The 2026 WFMU Halloween Hell-ride" is a non-competitive social ride and WFMU listener meetup being held on October 31, 2026.Participants will gather at Battery Park at 9:30 AM on Saturday, October 31, 2026 for a 10:00 AM roll-out. The ride will be hosted by WFMU volunteer staff members Michael Newman (Hinky Dinky Time) & Dave Mandl (It's Complicated). The ride will take place on the segregated multi-use paths (Hudson River Greenway/Empire State Trail) on the west side of Manhattan in New York City, from Battery Park in Lower Manhattan at the south end to Tiny Beach at the north end. Participation in the ride is free of charge. There will be a casual listener gathering at Tryon Public House (separate checks) in the Inwood neighborhood near Tiny Beach following the ride (around noon). Please read the waiver (linked below). Please print, sign, and bring a copy for each participant in your group to the start of the ride. Blank copies will be provided for those that need them prior to the roll-out. The ride is rain or shine unless ride conditions are completely untenable. If the ride must be cancelled, this page will be updated and announcements will be made on WFMU's social media. In that eventuality we will still plan to meet at Tryon Public House at noon. Please plan to wear a helmet, and to ride safely. |
